Cape Cod® Polish Company

Cape Cod® Polish Company

In 1991, after nearly 25 years of restoring antique metal objects and being less than pleased with the polishing products available, Massachusetts antique dealer and entrepreneur William Block developed Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths. His goal was to make a moistened polishing cloth that could easily remove tarnish and leave a brilliant mirror shine without rubbing off excessive finish in the process. A pleasant vanilla fragrance and an anti-tarnish protection were included in that goal.

Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths have sold to customers throughout the U.S. and Canada as well as South America, Europe, and Australia. The company is now managed by Jared Block and the cloths are still manufactured in Massachusetts on Cape Cod and remain, in the words of a loyal customer, "The Only Civilized Way to Polish Silver!"

Jared, who has lived on Cape Cod almost 30 years, says this about his state, "I think what I like best about Massachusetts is that I can go swimming in the ocean and then hiking in the mountains within a couple of hours. Also, since I travel a lot on business and tell people where I'm from, they always remark what a beautiful place the Cape is. Sometimes you forget how lucky you are to live in a place like this."

The Polishing Cloths are packaged in a decorative tin with twelve polishing cloths, a buffing cloth, and a pair of reusable nitrile gloves. Delighted with the packaging, customers often send tins to friends and family and invoke one of the company's mottos: "Give a Tin to your Kin!"
