Award Honors Customer Service and Sense of New England Pride

WESTON, Mass. -- March 31, 2008 -- Massachusetts Bay Trading Company (www.massbaytrading.com), the web store featuring Massachusetts-made products and gifts associated with Boston, has been named finalist for the 2008 Pride of New England Award. According to Boston Gift Show®, presenters of the award, Massachusetts Bay Trading Company exemplifies outstanding customer service, creative merchandising, and dedication to community. The award celebrates both exceptional business practices and the demonstration of New England pride.

“We founded Massachusetts Bay Trading Company to address the need for a central Web-based focal point for Boston and New England products,” said MBTC President Bob Nilsson. “It has been as important to us to bring forward the stories behind the Massachusetts craftspeople who create the products as to promote the products themselves.”

During 2007, MBTC recorded a sustained sales growth of 25% over the preceding year. The retail company continued to add 5-10 additional Boston and New England products to its line up each quarter.
