There is no amateur baseball league more prestigious and more storied than the Cape Cod Baseball League. Now for the first time, the story of the league is told in a feature-length documentary complete with interviews from current and past players, coaches, fans and others who make Cape Cod the place to be for a true summer experience. The documentary crew spent the entire summer of 2003 following the Cape League. The result is a unique view of the transition from college baseball player to professional player.

There are currently over 200 Major League baseball players that have spent time in the Cape League, many of whom appear in this film. The Cape Cod Baseball League is baseball in its purest form. This film is for those who not only love baseball, but people who have spent a summer on the Cape "Touching the Game."

Culled from over 80 hours of footage, the film explores the extraordinary, long standing story of the Cape Cod Baseball League through the eyes of all of its participants, including over forty of the two hundred or so current major leaguers like Nomar Garciaparra, Jeff Bagwell, and Frank Thomas, who played in the Cape League. With compelling human-interest threads and beautiful photography, the best amateur baseball in the country is brought to life in "Touching the Game."
